100% Chain of Custody
Driven by a shared passion for coffee and adventure, Marianella Baez returned to Costa Rica with her husband Jon Jost after many yers studying and working in the United States to submerge themselves in every single step of coffee production—from soil analysis and shade management to milling and exporting. By maintaining complete control over their 5.5-hectare estate, they guarantee 100% direct-trade transparency from their hands in Naranjo to your daily cup.
Terroir & Taste
Flourishing beneath a diverse canopy of tropical fruit trees at 1,400 meters, this light roast highlights the purest expression of Naranjo's microclimate. The delicate Villa Sarchi varietal captures the sharp, crisp notes of fresh lemon peel, softened by a silky honey finish that lingers softly on the palate.
Note on the Varietal: Villa Sarchi is a natural dwarf mutation of the Bourbon coffee variety, originating from the town of Sarchí in Costa Rica's Alajuela province.
How We Source
We don’t just buy coffee—we know the people who grow it. Every bean in this bag comes through the Farmers Project, a collective built on direct relationships, fair pay, and shared values. Café con Amor is part of our Women Care network, recognizing farms led by women who are shaping the future of Costa Rican specialty coffee. This lot also meets the AAAA Sustainable Quality Program and CAFE Practices standards—not because we had to, but because Marianella and Jon wouldn’t have it any other way. Their farming methods also qualify under NAMA, a low-carbon agriculture framework that reflects how seriously they take the land they work.
