100% Chain of Custody
Established in the 1920s, Zalmari Estate is managed by fourth-generation producer Cecilia Genis alongside her mother, Marigold Murray. Together, they oversee every step of cultivation and processing on their historic 100-hectare estate. By maintaining direct oversight from their micro-region wet mill through international export, Cecilia and Marigold ensure 100% direct-trade transparency and a seamless chain of custody from farm to cup.
Terroir & Taste
Nestled between volcanic mountain ranges, Zalmari benefits from leguminous shade trees and cool evening temperatures that slow bean ripening, locking in rich, full-bodied flavors. Honey processing leaves natural fruit sugars on the seed during drying, enhancing its inherent sweetness and depth. Developed into a versatile medium roast, Cachí opens with an inviting aroma of brown sugar and subtle citrus, unfolding with rich notes of toasted walnut and a lingering dark chocolate finish.
How We Source
Directly sourced through the Farmers Project alliance, every bag honors the pioneering work of Cecilia Genis and Marigold Murray. As active members of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA-Costa Rica), Zalmari Farm made history as the first estate to achieve Women Care Certified (WCC) status—actively supporting sustainable livelihoods and economic advancement for women throughout the coffee supply chain.
